Healthcare Industry cannot Work without Uninterrupted Power Supply

Uninterrupted power supply assumes greater importance and criticality than the healthcare industry. For this industry the absence of UPS battery is not only related to profit and loss but it also equates to loss of precious life which cannot be recovered at any cost. Let understand its importance in detail especially in view of increasing power outages in hospitals.

Life saving machines

There are many life saving medical equipments like a ventilator, baby incubator etc which run on electricity and are critical to the person staying alive. A sudden power outage and lack of critical power supply can lead to the death of the patients which cannot be restored once the electricity is restored. These units must run uninterrupted.

Critical during operations

In any hospital multiple numbers of operations and surgeries are being executed almost round the clock. A power outage would not only let some machines unfit to be used but will also make the surgeon impossible to continue with surgery in the darkened surgery room. This can lead to accident like wrong cut etc and is guaranteed to lead to death. Consequently this would lead to a lawsuit against both the doctor and the hospital. This equates to loss of both credibility and finances and eventually business. This is the reason why having high operating temperature battery is of utmost important.

Important data on computers

Most of finances, the hospital room status, patients’ information, doctor’s diagnosis, evaluation and medication and many other data are constantly being fed and stored in computers. An unexpected loss of power can lead to an immediate closure of the computer and possible loss of critical data. This would not only lead to loss of finances and data but also raises high probability of data getting mixed up as well during restoration process. Consequently wrong diagnosis and medication may be prescribed to a patient leading to his death.

Laboratory

Any hospital would have a test laboratory where number of tests is being carried out. A power outage would bring everything to a standstill, mixing up of samples results and all possible imaginable chaos.

Thus it is clear that getting a top low maintenance battery installed in a hospital is critical and essential and not an optional criterion.
